Walking alone

Summer breeze

Wafting cotton dresses

Silhouettes of swaying hips

Appear against the fire

Drums pounding out heartbeats

Shadows dancing around the blaze

Radiant faces

Covered in Smoke and sweat

Sparks popping

Glowing embers reach for the stars

Only to die out

And tumble back to Earth

Burning desire

Ascending the heavens

Only to plummet back to Earth

Waiting for one more moment

One more touch

One more kiss

But the night grows cold

And the dull ache remains

As I walk alone
